Eugenia Bishop, Slytherin 5th year
*toying with the hem of her robe, Eugenia listens avidly to every word that drops from Narcissa's lips. she can't understand why Bellatrix isn't more enthralled by her sister's fascinating summer adventures at the sea with Lucius Malfoy. The youngest Black is, in fact, curled up in a corner with her feet on the windowsill looking absolutely sullen.*
*trying to be kind- Bella is her roommate, after all*
So Bella, what did you do over the hols? I barely heard from you.
*Grace rolls her eyes behind a magazine.*
A bit early to be this polite to one another, isn't it? Shouldn't we get some preemptive bickering done? Best to get it out of the way, right?
*Eugenia gives her a sarcastically unamused look, and Grace beams back*
*settles into a pout, hoping for some sympathy from Narcissa's corner. Grace always did think she was better than everyone else, ridiculous really.*
Well if you want to be ill-tempered, Grace, go right ahead. You certainly do an excellent job of it.
*spies his sister in a compartment with the other birds she twitters about with, and darts in without knocking.*
'Allo, finally got you. *jerks a thumb at the door behind him* You'd best put a leash on your man Avery down the hall, he's half crazed since Rosier said he took you to dinner over hols.
*Bella's eyes flick to Eugenia briefly, her expression still sullen and pensive.*
Do? What did I do? I sat around the house and wasted away while Andromeda went to Spain, mother and father toured Paris and this one *she jerked her head in Narcissa's direction* sat about and wrote mooney letters to the Great and Esteemed Lucius Malfoy.
*a smirk flickered around the corners of Bella's lips. She affected a high, screechy voice and began to recite*
'My dearest Lucius, the days are long and dull without your scintillating company. However shall I endure until I can once again be graced with your presence?'
*Regina lingers for a moment, looking pitiously in on the conversation within. She stops dead, blocking the entire hallway, her bag thrown over her shoulder.*
Does she really think that they care about her?? They are simply fawning over her implied perfection, completely unaware that she is shallow, vapid and cruel. Or perhaps they already know that and simply don't care...
*Reg considers these thoughts for a moment, aware that her own bias against the Queen of Slytherin may have something to do with her opinion on the brown-nosing Slyths.*
*Someone taps on her shoulder and she immediately moves aside, assuming it's yet another Slytherin girl. She turns 'round to find an unexpected yet pleasant surprise to greet her.*
*Ludo swaggers down the compartment hall, hoping to catch Gilderoy unentangled so they can have a good round of catch-me-up about the summer hols. Ludo's were brilliant, of course, and now he's Quidditch captain things are shaping up to be the best year ever.*
*peers into every compartment as he passes them, eliciting some dirty looks and some questioning glances, but still no Gilderoy. is startled when he bumps into someone and realises it's Regina Skeeter. Such a pretty girl, and so smart. Ludo admires Ravenclaws just on principle, and gives Regina a charming smile.*
Regina, lovely! To see you I mean, though you're looking lovely as well. How was your summer?
*coming from the other direction, Greta sees Regina talking to Ludo Bagman and simply can't refrain from joining in the conversation. He's such
a dish, after all, and why should Regina have all the fun?*
*saunters up and coyly lays a hand on each of their arms*
What's this, having a right party in the corridor without me?
*As Regina is about to open her mouth when she is interrupted by the arrival of Greta, her darling flirt. In fine form, of course, she eyes Ludo up and, well, down.*
Greta!! *Reg leans in, pecks Greta's cheek and gives her a quick hug, as she hadn't seen her friend all summer.*
Ludo was just asking me about my summer hols and I hadn't responded quite yet, due to your pleasantly surprising arrival.
*She winks at Greta and glances coyly up at Ludo.*
Since we seem to be blocking the entire hallway, should we retire somewhere more... private? To discuss our summers, of course??
"Bella, dear." *Her words are elongated.* Someday you will understand what it is to be loved, and courted by such a gentleman. Maybe if you'd stop scowling once in a while, you would not have spent the entire holiday sitting in the dark.
*She playfully sticks the tip of her pink little tongue out at her sister.*
*stomps his foot a little impatiently at being ignored*
I'm serious, Grace, leg it down there and fix them, I'm not sitting with that ruckus the rest of the way to Hogwarts!
*ignores her dangerous glare- she doesn't scare him- and turns to smile at the assembled girls. Bellatrix, nice, but a bit intense for him; Narcissa, lovely of course, a vision, but totally taken; and Eugenia Bishop, the neverending mouth.*so I see, my prospects shrink by the day...
*shakes his head and backs out the door a little mournfully, gesturing down the hall for Grace to lead the way.</i>
